SZA Has Gained A New Award from the Recording Industry Association of America

SZA recently gained another award from the Recording Industry Association of America. Her 2014 track “Childs Play” featured Chance the Rapper and has been certified gold. The track was produced by Dae One and XXYYXX and sold over 500,000 equivalent units. The track is off of SZA’s first proper EP, Z, that debuted at number 39 on the Billboard 200 during the week of April 26th, 2014. Childs Play is the first song off of Z to receive an RIAA certification.

SZA also gained nine new RIAA certifications in August and got a few extra this month. She received a platinum certification for her feature on Post Malone’s “Staring at the Sun.” Her collaboration with Doja Cat “Kiss Me More” has also moved to being 5x multi-platinum, halfway to diamond status. SZA stated, “Thank you to Doja. Thank you to my momma. Thank you, God, and just thanks to all of y’all,” during her acceptance speech.

SZA is also set to appear on Saturday Night Live as a musical guest on December third with Keke Palmer as the host. She is also set to release her sophomore album, S.O.S, in December. SZA’s upcoming album will be a follow up to her debut album, Ctrl, that turned five in June.
