The general public sale for Taylor Swift’s the Eras Tour on Friday, November 18th, has been cancelled. A statement from Ticketmaster about the event reads, “due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow’s public on-sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been canceled.”
On Tuesday, November 15th, Swift fans wanting tickets dealt with extremely long delays that for th emost part ended in no tickets for a concert. Messages were received such as, “we are currently experiencing technical difficulties … we apologize for the inconvenience,” Long lines and involuntary logouts were other problems that occurred with Ticketmaster customers.
Taylor Swift has not yet commented on the situation at hand, and it is currently unclear how Ticketmaster and Taylor Swift will proceed from here. The tour will start on March 18th, and demand will likely grow among her country and pop music fans. A Live Nation chairman also stated that they originally expected roughly 1.5 million verified Taylor Swift fans for the presale, however, 14 million showed up for it.
