R&B and Hip-Hop Nominations for the 2023 Grammy Awards Have Been Announced

On November 15th, the nominations for the 2023 Grammy Awards were announced. Beyoncé grabbed nine nominations for her album Renaissance, the most for any artist. Other names in the R&B and Hip-Hop space that grabbed nominations include Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige. and DJ Khaled.

After the release of his album Mr. Morale and The Big Steppers, Kendrick Lamar is looking to grab another win next January with at least of one of his eight nominations. Mary J. Blige released her album, Good Morning Gorgeous last November, and accumulated six nominations. Future and DJ Khaled both received six nominations a piece, including some in the same category such as best melodic rap performance.

Shockingly, Brent Faiyaz didn’t receive a single nomination, despite Wasteland almost taking down Bad Bunny from the Billboard 200 albums chart from July.
