According to tasteofcountry.com, Walker Hayes recently debuted an unreleased song about his experiences with addiction on Saturday, October 22nd while playing a sold out show in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Fan video showed Hayes telling the crowd that he realized his addictive personality shows up in many different ways in his life saying that, “Working out — just, you know, anything, Pretty much anything I touch, I can turn into an addiction.”
That trait of his is exactly what inspired him to write the song called “Same Drunk,” as he went on to say that, “I wrote this song, and I wanna share it with y’all. It’s called ‘Same Drunk,’ it’s not out yet, but I love testing new stuff out.”
Hayes has previously addressed his personal struggles in the track via his recent single “AA” that chronicles aspects of his relationship with alcohol and sobriety as well as the line, “Well, I gave up Skoal and cigarettes / Now I’m just hooked on Nicorette.”
Recently, Hayes also put out a version of his song, “Y’all Life,” that features singer songwriter Ciara.
