According to ratedrnb.com, Ashanti is getting ready to release new music, the Grammy winning singer/songwriter has announced her new single “Falling For You.” The track is set to release on Friday, October 28th on Ashanti’s imprint Written Entertainment. Ashanti also collaborated with rapper BLEU on “Falling For You,” which he also produced.
The track will mark Ashanti’s first solo single since 2021’s “235 (2:35 I Want You),” which she dropped after her Verzuz celebration with Keyshia Cole. According to Verzuz, the track accumulated over 8 million viewers across platforms. A week after Verzuz, Ashanti dropped an accompanying video that was directed by JaQuel Knight.
Eight years have passed since Ashanti last put out an album, Braveheart had appearances from Jeremih, Rick Ross, and French Montana. In 2018, Ashanti teased an EP that she had been working on in an interview with Paper Magazine where she said, “I’ve had conversations about there being a real void for true, soul-touching R&B, and that’s what I feel I’m accomplishing with this record,”
Besides her solo music, she has been keeping busy with collaborations, with an appearance on Diddy and Bryson Tiller’s “Gotta Move On (Queens Remix)” with rapper Yung Miami. She also teamed with rappers Moneybagg Yo (“Wockesha [Remix]”) and Joyner Lucas (“Fall Slowly.”)
