Trevor Noah Will Host His Last ‘Daily Show’

According to hollywoodreporter.com, Trevor Noah will be saying goodbye to The Daily Show in December. Meanwhile how the show will look and who will be hosting it remains an unknown. Paramount Global made an announcement on Wednesday that Noah’s final Daily Show would be airing on December 8th. The week of shows leading up to his last episode will take a look back at some of his best moments from his seven years as the show’s host. In their statement they said that, “Trevor is an incredible talent who has left an indelible mark on The Daily Show and we’re grateful for his creative partnership over the past seven years.”

Noah made his own statement saying, “Chris has been an amazing leader and partner who has helped me realize my dream of working not just in front of the camera, but also behind the scenes, producing content which now airs across the Paramount family. I’m truly excited to see what the future holds.”

Trevor Noah’s official announcement of leaving the show came as a shock to executives at Paramount and comedy Central, including McCarthy who had lunch with Noah the day before. The show will remain on the channel despite rumors it would become exclusive to Paramount+, the companies big streaming service. Comedy Central stated that a revamped Daily Show would return from a holiday break on January 17th but offered no further information on the show, stating that, “The Emmy-winning franchise will embark on a reinvention as it has done so successfully in the past.”

Noah was the third host of The Daily Show after Craig Kilborn and Jon Stewart, who Noah replaced back in 2015. The shows current correspondents will likely be talked about when it comes to hosting and they are, Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, Desi Lydic, Dulcé Sloan, Roy Wood Jr., Lewis Black and Jordan Klepper. Jen Flanz is the shows showrunner and executive producer with Noah and Jill Katz.
