‘The Rings of Power’ Has Started Filming Season Two

According to hollywoodreporter.com, Amazon’s The Rings of Power began filming its second season, while production got underway on Monday at the new hub located at Bray Studios, right outside of London. The news comes after Nielsen ratings were released on Thursday for the Prime Video series, showing that The Rings of Power topped streaming charts in its debut week with 1.3 billion minutes viewed. The first season of the show was filmed in New Zealand over a course of 18 months during the pandemic. Season two will contain eight episodes and production will occur in the U.K., making it more affordable.

The Rings of Power is close to its seventh episode of its first season. With the cast made up of Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Nazanin Boniadi, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Lloyd Owen, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman and Sara Zwangobani.

production also announced a new character in Círdan (not yet cast), who is one of the oldest and wisest of the elves.
