According to losangelesblade.com, L.A. County Parks is encouraging young girls to join together and learn how to turn their dreams into reality, receive wisdom from successful women innovators, connect with their peers, and exercise their girl power with a dance party, for the 8th annual “I Matter: Girls Empowerment Conference” set for Saturday, October first. The event is themed with “Girls with Dreams Become Women with Vision,” the conference is aiming to inspire young girls to pursue their dreams and educate them about success and powerful women in a global society. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. , and is open to girls aged 12-18, the event is being held at East Los Angeles College. The Honorable Judge Olivia Rosales, a judge of the Los Angeles County Superior Court-Southeast District is the keynote speaker for the vent, starting off a day of informative and fun interactive workshops where the girls can learn from experts about success in today’s world.
“I Matter: Girls Empowerment Conference” is free but registration is limited. Parents do not attend the conference as this is an event only for girls ages 12-18.
