Kendrick Lamar Released ‘We Cry Together’ Short Film

According to hiphopdx.com, Kendrick Lamar turned his track “We Cry Together,” into a short film. It was also recently revealed that the six minute long film, has qualified Kendrick for consideration for the Academy Award’s Best Live Action Short category. The track itself is very divisive and has some fans praising Kendrick’s authentic depiction of a toxic relationship, while others are uncomfortable with the song altogether.

The single debuted at number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, however, it fell 81 spots on the chart after just one week. All 18 tracks from Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers separately made their mark on the Hot 100 when the album dropped on May 13th , with the album itself debuting at Number one on the Billboard 200.

The album was praised across the world of Hip Hop and was Kendrick’s fourth Number one album. Interestingly enough, Madonna recently spoke of Kendrick saying, “There’s one artist that I worship more than anything in life and I would love to collaborate with him, and that’s Kendrick Lamar.” She continued to compliment Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers in stating, “His new record is history-making. Mind-bogglingly brilliant. It’s insane.”
