According to tasteofcountry.com, Luke Bryan and Vince Gill took the stage for a classic country jam session for the Brett Boyer Foundation Invitational Charity Golf Event, last Monday, August 15th. Gill played a version of his “Liza Jane,” which came out in 1991, “Whenever You Come Around,” and the Eagles’ “Take It Easy.” While Bryan contributed his ” I Don’t Want This Night to End” to the set and Jason Aldean’s “Night Train” was also played during Gill and Bryan’s time on stage. The pair also told stories on stage including the firs time they met, when Bryan was an unknown artist and Gill was a big star already. Bryan was quoted in saying, “Somebody said this man was sitting in that boutique in there and we walked in there and I shook his hand and he was the first country music celebrity I ever met, He stood up and shook my hand, … So many years later we get to sit on a stage like this and have fun, in a true musician, organic, not-planned fashion, which is what music ought to be, in my opinion.” The event they performed at was in support of the Brett Boyer Foundation, that Bryan and his wife Caroline established together in honor of their niece, Sadie Brett Boyer. Sadie had been diagnosed prenatally with Down Syndrome and a cognitive heart defect, ultimately passing away after battling with heart disease for seven months.
