New York Jets Quarterback Zach Wilson Must Undergo Knee Surgery

According to nfl.com, Zach Wilson, Quarterback for the New York Jets has to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his injured right knee on Tuesday in Los Angeles. On Friday Night, Wilson was taken off of the field after receiving a non-contact knee injury during a preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Wilson ended up being diagnosed with a bone bruise and a torn meniscus. Dr. Neal ElAttrache, a specialist in shoulder, elbow, knee surgeries, and sports medicine will be performing the surgery. The current prognosis for Wilson’s return is from 2-4 weeks. Jets head coach Robert Saleh is quoted in saying, “We’re optimistic, But he’s not out of the woods until they get in there and make the decision.” There will be a slim chance that Wilson may be ready to start off the season on September 11th, however, if that is not the case Joe Flacco and Mike White are ready to start if they need to due to Wilson still recovering.
