According to cbssports.com, Roquan Smith has requested to be traded from the Chicago Bears organization on Monday due to a reported lack of productive contract talks. Roquan Smith is now entering his final year of his current deal and is quoted in saying that, “new front office regime doesn’t value me.” He also made claims that the organization has not been acting in good faith so far and that is what triggered him to make the trade request. Whoever takes Smith is set to get one of the best linebackers in the league, with him being one of six players in league history to have 500 or more tackles, 10 or more sacks, and five or more interceptions in his first four seasons.
