According to hiphopdx.com, a fan at The Weeknd’s show in Philadelphia, on Thursday, July 14th, fell to his death. The fan was 32 year old, Hugo Sanchez, who was sitting on an escalator rail at Lincoln Financial Field when he reportedly lost his balance and fell 40 feet. He was then rushed over to the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, howver, he was pronounced dead shortly after he got to the hospital. Police are referring to it as an unfortunate incident with no foul play involved. It was unclear why Sanchez was on the rail, however he fell just before 11 p.m. and funeral arrangements are being planned. The Philly stop was the first on the schedule for The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn Tour, and started off nicely with the star flying out a six year old fan that was upset by the show being postponed. A photo of the child taken outside of the venue, upset over the fact it was originally postponed caught The Weeknd’s attention and his team had a red carpet set up for the child and his father, as well as, VIP treatment where they met The Weeknd and got his autograph. The child’s father posted on Instagram, “I wouldn’t be able to put this last week into words if I tried, We are forever grateful for this moment in time. We are beyond thankful to Abel and his beautiful crew for their friendship, hospitality, generosity and for spending day with Phoenix and I today. He will cherish this experience forever. Thank you a million times over. xo.” At least one positive came out of a night that contained such a horrific incident of another fan.
