Nike Celebrates Women’s Euros Sponsorship Through “Rebel Girls”

According to thedrum.com, Nike has decided to team up with the women’s stories platform, Rebel Girls, to celebrate women footballers and inspire young girls leading up to the Uefa European Women’s Championship, which Nike is the official sponsor of. The project focuses on female athletes, coaches, and community leaders, the empowerment brands will attempt to amplify the stories of female footballers and coaches from all around the world to empower women of all ages and cultures. The digital stories will be released via Nike’s online ecosystem in various places, including the Nike app, social media pages, and special audio available through the Rebel Girls’ app or website. Rebel Girl’s will also release a special book titled Rebel Girls: Game Changing Footballers, 12 Thrilling Stories of Female Athletes. Jes Wolfe Rebel Girls’ chief executive officer stated that, “As we celebrate 12 women footballers from 10 countries with Nike in Rebel Girls: Game-Changing Footballers, we empower girls to see themselves as champions as we amplify the barrier-breaking achievements of women athletes around the world. Rebel Girls is proud to partner with Nike to bring our innovative, empowering storytelling to girls across the globe,” Nike will also be producing posters of female athletes featuring various Rebel Girls’ original illustrations, the program started on July 2nd and will run through the start of September.
