According to CBS Sports, on Saturday afternoon at Yankee Stadium, three Houston Astros’ pitchers combined their talents to accomplish the 14th no-hitter in franchise history. Javier had his first career start at Yankee Stadium, where he held the Yankees unable to grab a hit off of him. Reliever Hector Neris took over for Javier in the 8th inning. After walking two, he got Joey Gallo on a fly, and Aaron Judge on a hard hit liner that was dropped by the shortstop, but recovered in time to get an out at second, and the no hitter remained. Up last for the Yankees was Anthony Rizzo, Josh Donaldson, and Giancarlo Stanton, which were all denied by Astros closer Ryan Pressly for the 3-0 Astros’ no-hitter win. The most recent combined no-hitter by the Astros was back in 2019 when Aaron Sanchez, Will Harris, Joe Biagini, and Chris Devenski accomplished the job. Javier did the brunt of the work, with 13 strikeouts, a career high for the pitcher, as well as, a total of 115 pitches on the night.
