According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ben Stiller visited the Ukraine as an UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador and met Zelensky after being shown occupied areas in Kyiv. In a video that can be found on Twitter, Stiller can be seen greeting Zelensky and saying ” You’re My Hero”. Karolina Lindholm Billing a UNHCR representative accompanied Stiller during the entire trip, where they talked to many survivors in the area. “It’s one thing to see this destruction on TV or on social networks. Another thing is to see it all with your own eyes. That’s a lot more shocking,” Stiller stated to Zelensky, in which he said, “What you saw in Irpin is definitely dreadful. But it is even worse to just imagine what is happening in the settlements that are still under temporary occupation in the east,” in response. The two also discussed topics such as supporting the displaced people of Ukraine, while Zelensky pointed out violations of human rights that were occurring with forced deportation of Ukrainian citizens to Russia.
