Notorious B.I.G was one of the most influential legendary rappers. Although, he arguably was only able to reach the heights he did because when he made his first ever demo, he got some help from DJ 50 Grand. Friends of Biggie are dealing with another loss as the news spreads of Dj 50 Grands passing at just 55 years old. Biggie’s cousin Lil Cease posted on social media, “This One Hurt Man,” “We Was Literally Was Just Celebrating Wit You For Big Smh!! Wouldn’t Be No Big If It Wasn’t For You!! We Love You 50 Grand & Your Gonna Be Missed!! @kevin50grangriffin #RipDj50Grand #Big1stDJ.” Lil Cease made the post on Instagram, stating that he played a significant role in Hip Hop. When speaking on the subject of Biggie’s demo tape, DJ 50 Grand said back in 2011 in an interview with The Fader, I took [Biggie] straight to the basement. We smoked. We drank, And ’bout an hour later we came out with that demo.” That demo tape contained four songs, “Microphone Murderer,” “Guaranteed Raw,” “Live In Action” and “Love No Ho.” Ultimately the song Microphone Murderer is what got Biggie signed to a recording deal.
