Montrezl Harrell Receives Felony Drug Charges in Kentucky

Montrezl Harrell of the Charlotte Hornets will be facing felony drug charges after being pulled over in Kentucky last month, as was originally reported by Roderick Boone of the Charlotte Observer. Harrell was pulled over by a state trooper on May 12th, when he admitted to being is possession of marijuana. Three pounds of vacuum sealed bags of marijuana were found in a backpack in the back seat and Harrell made claims that the car was a rental. In the state of Kentucky, possessing between eight ounces and five points of marijuana is considered a Class-D felony for first time offenders. The felony also includes a fine between $1000 and $10,000 dollars and holds a punishment of between one and five years of incarceration. The Charlotte Hornets haven’t yet spoke up about the situation. Harrell averaged 13.1 points in his past 71 games with both Charlotte and Washington.
