This Friday offers three very distinct movies for a variety of entertainment!
Umma, which is the Korean word for “mother,” follows Amanda and her daughter living a quiet life on an American farm, but when the remains of her estranged mother arrive from Korea, Amanda becomes haunted by the fear of turning into her own mother. The film, written and directed by Iris K. Shim, stars Sandra Oh, Fivel Stewart, Dermot Mulroney, Odeya Rush, WeeWha Alana Lee, and Tom Yi. Umma is rated PG-13 and will be hitting theaters nationwide this Friday.
The Outfit, starring Mark Rylance, Dylan O’Brien, Zoey Deutch, and Johnny Flynn, follows an English tailor who makes beautiful clothes for the only people around who can afford them: a family of vicious gangsters. The film is written and directed by Graham Moore, who last directed Naked Is the Best Disguise and last wrote The Imitation Game and The Last Days Of Night. Rated R, The Outfit will be hitting theaters nationwide this Friday.
An attractive young married couple’s mind games with each other take a twisted turn in Deep Water when people around them start turning up dead. The couple staves off divorce in a loveless marriage by allowing each to take lovers, but it becomes messy. Deep Water stars Ana de Armas, Ben Affleck, Tracy Letts, Rachel Blanchard, Lil Rel Howery, Finn Wittrock, and more. The film is written by Sam Levinson, who wrote Malcolm & Marie and Another Happy Day, and is directed by Adrian Lyne, who last directed Unfaithful and Stompanato. Deep Water is rated R and will be released on Hulu this Friday.
