Hershey’s is celebrating the role women and girls play in our lives by highlighting the “SHE” at the center of the brand’s signature milk chocolate bar as part of Women’s History Month celebrations.
“I am fortunate to have had access to many inspiring, competent and compassionate female leaders at Hershey. In fact, it was a female marketing director who dreamt up and organized the recent effort to give #CelebrateSHE International Women’s Day Hershey’s bars and handwritten notes to more than 1,000 female Milton Hershey School students. It was a wonderful way to remind young women how incredible and fearless they truly are,” said Hershey’s Senior Brand Manager Jenny Fukumoto-Pasko.
The Hershey Company was recently ranked at the top of Forbes’ inaugural list of the World’s Top Female-Friendly Companies. In putting together the list, Forbes partnered with the market research firm Statista to identify companies that led the way in supporting women both inside and outside of their workforce.
“At Hershey, we are more than female friendly – we are female forward,” said Alicia Petross, Chief Diversity Officer of The Hershey Company. “From internal initiatives, such as pay equity, our hiring and development strategy and women’s business resource group, to external initiatives, such as the International Women’s Day HerSHEy’s bar and our ongoing community engagement efforts to support all youth, this recognition is a testament to our continued commitment to gender equity across our organization.”
Additionally, and as part of the celebration of “SHE,” Hershey’s is teaming up with Girls on the Run, a nonprofit organization with a mission focused on supporting, empowering and inspiring girls to realize their limitless potential. As part of the partnership, Hershey’s is donating $150,000 to Girls on the Run.
You can celebrate SHE by sharing a photo and story of a woman or girl you’re celebrating on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #CelebrateSHE. Hershey’s will share some stories on social channels throughout the entire month of March, in recognition of Women’s History Month.
The limited-edition “Celebrate SHE” bars are now available nationwide, while supplies last.
