The Weeknd had been teasing an upcoming announcement scheduled for yesterday, but the singer decided to postpone his news due to the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
“I pray for everyone’s safety,” he wrote on Twitter on Wednesday. “Unfortunately I’m just now seeing what’s happening with the conflict and will pause on tomorrow’s announcement.”
The artist had posted a string of tweets teasing the postponed announcement. He wrote: “What a journey…we’re finally here,” as well as spelled out the word “tomorrow” over the course of seven tweets. His last tweet read “LET’S GOOOOOOOO,” which then led to his canceling of the announcement as fans and followers were cautioning him about posting amidst the unraveling events in Ukraine.
The Weeknd’s Dawn FM Experience, though, is still set to premiere exclusively on Amazon’s Prime Video on Saturday, February 26th.
