Foo Fighters Drop Death Metal Song from “Studio 666”

The Foo Fighters’ new horror-comedy Studio 666 is set to release at the end of the month on the 25th, and to tease fans even more, the alt-rockers have dropped a new, heavy death metal song from the flick.

“The premise of the movie is that we move into this house, I have writer’s block, I’m totally uninspired, I can’t come up with anything,” Grohl tells of the film’s plot. “And I wind up finding this creepy basement. And I go into the basement, I find this tape by a band from 25 years ago that recorded there. And there’s this song that, if recorded and completed, the f–ing demon in the house is unleashed, and then, whatever, all hell breaks loose.”

So–the track, “March of the Insane,” isn’t exactly a Foo Fighters song. Dream Widow, the fictional death metal group that the plot of Studio 666 is based on, has been brought to life by Dave Grohl and the rest of the Foo Fighters with 100% commitment to the bit.

“‘March of the Insane’ [is from Dream Widow‘s] lost record,” Grohl explains. “This is the record they were making before their singer murdered [them].”
