Country Goes Couture! See all the looks from this year’s CMA’s

The biggest names in Nashville came dressed to impress for the 2021 CMA Awards, which were held on Wednesday, November 10. With a red carpet rolled out at Bridgestone Arena, it didn’t take long to realize that these singers weren’t messing around in the style department.  After all, with fashion-forward stars like Lady A, Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert being honored at the event, it’s no shocker that everyone in attendance made sure to show up in style. Country music stars really brought out all the stops for the 55th annual awards show.

Some of the biggest trends seemed to be in black and white.  That is, stars like Nicole Kidman and Miranda Lambert went for the chic black gowns, while Kelsea Ballerini (in Valdrin Sahiti gown), Mickey Guyton (in Safiyaa) and Maren Morris (in an elegant tuxedo) went for a bright white.  Still, others chose to go for bold hues, like Jennifer Hudson in a berry-colored satin and lace gown, Carley Pearce in a midnight blue shimmering number, and Tenille Townes in a head-to-toe red cherry tuxedo. But, oh, the glitz sported by fashion favorite Carrie Underwood, going all out with a silver mirrored dress and matching shiny silver platform shoes!

But it appears the biggest trend for the ladies was in what they chose NOT to cover up with fabric.  From exposed shoulders, to midriffs, to slits up to there – or a combination of all three, if you’re Nicole Kidman – these country music gals were showing off all their hard work at the gym for sure!

And let’s not forget the gents!  Luke Bryan chose a classic black and white tux for the red carpet, but he took his hosting duties seriously when he went for six – count ’em SIX – costume changes over the course of the evening.  The boys did not shy away from prints or color, as television star Dulé Hill wore a plaid suit over a snappy black T-shirt, Thomas Rhett wore a maroon suit (also over a black T), Kane Brown went for a grape-toned suit over a patterned black sweater, and Dan + Shay had a kind of mustard gold and ketchup red vibe.  Could it be they called each other to color coordinate before the show?

Whoever said country music doesn’t pay attention to fashion, has obviously not been to the CMA’s.
