Megan Fox: “I Have Body Dysmorphia”

“I have a lot of deep insecurities,” Megan Fox admits in a recent interview. “I have body dysmorphia.”

The Jennifer’s Body star, 35, denies that a person’s perceived beauty equates to an abundance of happiness. “We may look at somebody and think, ‘That person’s so beautiful. Their life must be so easy,” Fox says. “They most likely don’t feel that way about themselves.”

Coinciding with World Mental Health Day this past Sunday, Fox’s transparency adds to the growing vulnerability of women in Hollywood. The curtain continues to be pulled back on the negative effects being in the limelight has on women’s mental health and self-image. Hopefully, such stories will encourage major changes in the industry.
