With her son, Kingston, now 1-years-old, Billie Lourd speaks on her experience of being a mother and how it has been shaped by years of pressure from her own mother, Carrie Fisher.
In a recent podcast interview, Lourd tells of how she had to grow up “really fast” due to having to care for her mother at such a young age. The pressure their tumultuous relationship had on the Booksmart actress has stuck with her even now, at 29, teaching her what to do as a parent—even more so what not to do.
“I was her main support, and I was 7,” Lourd explains. “I was her mother, I was her kid, I was her everything. And that’s one of the things I’m learning not to do with my kid.”
