The Kentucky Derby Released This Year’s Menu With Tips To Recreate It At Home

The Kentucky Derby’s highly anticipated at-home menu is here for this year’s races! Crafted by the renowned chef David Danielson, the menu features easy-to-make recipes inspired by the dishes served at Churchill Downs Racetrack. Bonus: There’s a virtual cooking class series for certain items.

On the Kentucky Derby 147 at-home menu, you’ll find tons of Louisville-style dishes with something for everyone. Two of the standout items? The Chicken Nuggets with Kentuckyaki Glaze and Pulled Pork Sliders with Peach & Vidalia Onion Chutney. Chef Danielson created Demos for those, so you’ll be able to whip them up in no time.

Other items include individually served “Jar-Cuterie” appetizers, AKA charcuterie board eats that are nicely stuffed into a personal jar. There are also salads, like a Tomato & Watermelon combo and Shrimp Succotash. Egg lovers will want to try the Deviled Eggs & Country Ham. And for dessert, the menu features an Ice Cream Sundae with Woodford Reserve Bourbon Caramel.

For the first time, each menu item is also paired with a wine and cocktail by expert sommeliers and distillers from Churchill Downs’ partners. Better yet, one of the demos is a mixology class by bourbon ambassador and industry leader Tim Knittel. In it, you learn how to make cocktails, like the Woodford Reserve Spire and Mint Julep.

You can find the full at-home menu and all of the cooking classes here. Looks like all you’ll need now is a big fancy hat to wear while you eat and watch the race from the comfort of your couch on May 1.
