80s Ladies Were the Best

James Brown said it years ago and it’s not very P.C. “It’s a Man’s Man’s World.” The ladies of the 80s were the finest in the land, so let’s salute these gals.

Madonna was a troubled child in suburban Rochester, Michigan who had lost her mother, her relationship with her father, and her way. Traveling to New York to live in protected housing in near poverty, this unstoppable forced molded the music, fashion, and the feminist social conscience of the 70s and 80s, through today.

Patricia Mae Andrzejewski, Pat Benatar, was a gal from Brooklyn who had moved to Long Island, yearning to be a singer. Her parents loved Opera, she loved rock and roll. Millions of records sales later, countless awards, albums, and books Pat is still a founding member of the girls club. Pat wrote about spousal and child abuse, addiction, and marital troubles when no one else would touch those issues.

What can you say about Tina Turner that hasn’t already ben said? Anna Mae was given a gift, the voice of an angel with an 18 wheeler behind it. Although most of Tina’s early years resemble a made for TV ‘Lifetime Movie of the Week,’ she now lives in Switzerland surrounded by the riches she deserves.
