The 2016 NBA Draft has come and gone and there weren’t too many surprises when it came to actual picks. The draft did have plenty of trades though. Let’s take a look at the highlights of the draft…
Ben Simmons went number one to the Philadelphia 76ers. He was a freshman at LSU this season that had hype surrounding him the entire year. His size and ability to play small forward is coveted, but he’ll need to work on his jump shot if he wants to become a perennial all-star.
The second and third picks went to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. With those picks, the Lakers took Brandon Ingram from Duke while Boston took Jaylen Brown, the freshman from California.
The biggest trade of the night was Orlando trading Victor Oladipo, Ersan Ilyasova, and their first round selection Thursday night for Serge Ibaka.
