2024 People’s Choice Country Awards: A Night of Stars, Songs, and Surprises

The 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards lit up the stage with incredible performances and unforgettable moments. Hosted by country icon Shania Twain, the star-studded event took place live from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on Sept. 26, airing on NBC and Peacock.

Top nominees included Zach Bryan, Beyoncé, Kacey Musgraves, and Shaboozey, with Miranda Lambert being honored with the Country Icon Award and Kane Brown receiving the Country Champion Award.

The night featured performances from country legends and rising stars alike, including Lambert, Brown, Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, and Machine Gun Kelly. Paisley wowed the crowd with a premiere of his new song “Truck Still Works,” while Machine Gun Kelly closed the show with a powerful performance of “Lonely Road,” honoring his collaboration with Jelly Roll, who was absent due to a tour commitment.

In a nostalgic moment, Twain praised MGK, reminiscing about her iconic album cover, which he recalled seeing in his father’s car growing up. Comedian Matt Rife brought humor to the stage, joking about his affection for Twain and teasing Keith Urban.

The night celebrated some of country music’s biggest stars, including Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, and Lainey Wilson, with many taking home trophies and gearing up for afterparties. Kane Brown, in his acceptance speech for the Country Champion Award, touched hearts by thanking his wife and kids, a touching end to a night full of music and emotion.
