Georgia was able to win the 2023 College Football Playoff Nation Championship and managed to break some records along the way. On Monday night, Georgia greatly overpowered TCU in a 65-7 victory that set a record for the most points in any FBS national title game. Making Georgia the first back to back national champions of the CFP era.
The Bulldogs were able to score on every possession in the first half, and 10 of 12 overall. They accumulated 589 yards on offense and held the Horned Frogs to just 188 yards and three turnovers. Georgia’s 58 point margin win also marks the most in any FBS bowl game.
Georgia’s quarterback, Stetson Bennett IV had 304 yards and six total touchdowns. He also tied LSU QB Joe Burrow for the most touchdowns responsible in any BCS or CFP national title game.
