Wedding Season is right around the corner, and if you’re a bride-to-be that has, oh, a few thousand to drop on your dream dress, then last week’s Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Spring 2019 was the place for you. This year, Vogue reports that the designers outdid themselves, displaying a lineup of jaw-dropping creations dreamed up by some of the most talented couturiers in the world. Among the feather-laden silhouettes, meticulously hand-embroidered numbers, and intricately-tailored designs were breathtaking bridal gowns, with was no shortage of beading, jewel-like embellishments, tulle, and lace on the runways.
Standout looks for brides-to-be include Lebanese couturier Rami Kadi’s off-the-shoulder creation that was embroidered with thousands of tiny, asymmetric laser-cut mirrors, sequins, and beads. Meanwhile, Elie Saab’s fantastical ocean-inspired collection culminated into a breathtaking wedding dress dreamed up out of crystal-encrusted tulle. Elsewhere, Ziad Nakad used ruffled, puff sleeves to update an otherwise-basic ball gown.
Those who prefer a less traditional approach to bridal wear will flip over Giambattista Valli’s closing look, a silk, crimson-colored frock with a matching face-covering veil, which was a bold departure from the traditional white wedding dress; and Alexandrew Vauthier’s ruffled, high-low creation was a playful update to bridal wear.
From Georges Chakra to Georges Hobeika, the Spring 2019 Haute couture collections will have you falling in love all over again.
