It seems every band in the world is now spending quality in Las Vegas, taking what’s called a ‘Las Vegas Residency’ getting off the road and asking fans to come see them. Now ZZ Top has just finished up a residency at the Venetian Theatre and begins an upcoming Blues & Bayous co-headlining tour with John Fogerty later this month. ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons has yet another solo project with his sideband The BFG’s, due out late this year, and will rejoin the Top for the Fogerty tour which kicks off May 25th, in Atlantic City.
“Gimmie All Your Lovin,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” and “Legs” served the band well in the 80s, but it’s the early 70s tunes “LaGrange,” “Jesus Went to Chicago,” and “Tush” that kicked ZZ Top into the national spotlight, earning the trio the reputation of a rock/blues band that could rock a live audience into a frenzy.
