ZZ Top Takes a Working Vacation in Las Vegas

ZZ Top is taking a working vacation in Las Vegas April 20th, 21st, 22nd, 25th, 27th and 28th, and they’d like you to come see them. The band has just announced a Las Vegas residency that will include six dates at the Venetian.

“Sharp Dressed Man” “Tush” and “Gimmie All Your Lovin” were top 10 songs for ZZ Top, the southern rock band from Texas that’s been making music since the early 70s.

Did you know that the only member of ZZ Top that doesn’t have a beard is Frank Beard? As popular as they are, their first LP’s called “ZZ Tops First Album’ was a commercial flop. ZZ Tops big break came with the release of their 3rd album which gave local FM radio stations the hit “La Grange” inspired by the popular brother in La Grange TX.

The hot rod called ‘The Eliminator’ (the red sporty 1933 Ford Coup used in the MTV videos “Gimme All Your Lovin'” and “Legs”) is actually in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Another odd fun fact about ZZ Top is that Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill were tempted by Gillette in 1984 to share their beads, which they declined.

ZZ Top’s Las Vegas shows are April 20th, 21st, 22nd, 25th, 27th and 28th.
