According to tasteofcountry.com, a woman whose mother was a fan of Alan Jackson is looking to fulfill an odd request on her deceased mother’s behalf. CentralMaine.com, originally reported that Sue Castle, from Gardiner, Maine, flew out to Nashville on Tuesday, October 11th in hopes of being able to spread her mother’s ashes at Jackson’s home. Reports state that Castle’s mother Mary Anne “Marie” Gallant was such a fan of Jackson that she had him tattooed on her back. This caught Jackson’s attention back in 2015 at a concert in Portland when the country star invited her to watch the concert from the stage and proceeded to dance with her during “Remember When.”
Gallant remembered the night as the happiest of her life and expressed how she wanted her ashes to be spread at Jackson’s home prior to her death in 2021 at the age of 80 years old. Castle stated her mother had seen Jackson perform over two dozen times and had vanity license plates that showed her love for his music and even a cardboard cutout of Jackson.
Castle told Central Maine that is she got the chance she would tell Jackson, “Thank you for giving my mom the best day of her life.” Castle plans on spending four days in Nashville as she attempts to make her mother’s wishes come true.
