Why the Cars Belong in the Hall After All

In the 80s, American loved MTV and MTV loved the Cars. We now hear that the Cars are about to reissue ‘Shake It Up’ from 1981 and ‘Heartbeat City’ from 1984, both receiving the latest digital clean up and reissue techniques. The bands fourth and fifth LPs will hit the stores March 30th. The releases will be available on digital CD, and double LP vinyl.

If you buy both you get “Since You’re Gone,” “Shake It Up,” “Hello Again,” “Drive,” “Magic,” and more. The Cars began with original members Benjamin Orr and Rick Ocasek running into each other in Boston, Cleveland etc. Finally, they decided to leave their bands and start their band. Although Benjamin is gone, they’ve come a long way from their first gig, playing the Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire in 1976.

Be sure to pick up the remaster and reissued albums ‘Shake It Up’ and ‘Heartbeat City’ at the end of March.
