This week we have talked a lot about the Grammys, and rightfully so. The award show happened on Monday night, blowing people away with the performances, awards, and speeches. After talking about all of these winners, it got us thinking. Where do some of the biggest names in the rap game rank for most wins ever at the Grammys?
Kanye West can’t get out of the news, but maybe that’s on purpose. Kanye and the next gentleman we’re going to talk about rank eighth for most Grammys for a male. He has 21 during his time as an artist, starting with three wins back in 2005. His hit rate isn’t that high (21 wins/57 nominations), but wins are all that matters at the end of the day.
Jay Z also has himself an impressive list of Grammy wins, and it currently stands at 21 as well. He won his first Gramm back in 1999 (Best Rap Album) and has won one as recently as 2015 when his work on “Drunk in Love” with Beyonce landed him two. Overall, Jay Z has been nominated for 64 nominations.
