In 2002 a Christian group called MercyMe hit the charts with an incredibly uplifting song called “I Can Only Imagine,” and nothing remained the same for the band or the lead singer and writer of the song Bart Millard. It’s an unusual script, but the movie of the same name “I Can Only Imagine” opens nationwide March 15th…
The film goes back to the early day of this Christian lead singer Bart Millard, as he struggles with a mother who deserted him, and an abusive father (played by Dennis Quade) who is engulfed in so much anger. country star Trace Adkins portrays a rising star who encourages this singer to channel his anger into the music, sharing with fans his childhood pain and fear.
“I Can Only Imagine” is one of those rare moves that will inspire and lift your soul, based on the true story of a man who wrote a number one Christian song of the same name. Again, “I Can Only Imagine” opens nationwide March 15th.
