Weezer’s frontman Rivers Cuomo has sparked excitement among fans with a hint at a grand touring plan. The tour is set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their acclaimed debut LP, ‘The Blue Album.’ Despite not commemorating its 20th anniversary in 2014, Cuomo expressed his enthusiasm for giving the album the celebration it deserves this time around.
In a recent interview with Collider, Cuomo revealed plans for an “epic tour” and a deluxe package full of additional material to honor the album’s legacy. Released in 1994, ‘The Blue Album’ marked a significant milestone in alternative rock, establishing Weezer as a powerhouse in the genre.
Although Weezer already has some UK tour dates lined up with Smashing Pumpkins, fans are advised to keep an eye on the band’s schedule. Cuomo hinted at a “very suspicious blank space” in their calendar following these dates, suggesting more shows could be on the horizon.
The announcement has stirred anticipation for a series of performances that will revisit and celebrate Weezer’s early days, offering both nostalgia and excitement for fans of all ages. The tour is expected to be a fitting tribute to an album that has left an indelible mark on rock music.
