U2 Drummer Replacement Bram Van Den Berg Taking Over Las Vegas Residency

U2’s Las Vegas residency later on this year is going to be the second time in over 40 years of the band’s existence, that they will be performing without drummer Larry Mullen Jr. As Larry Mullen Jr. previously announced he will not be joining the band on the road in 2023 either while he takes care of health problems.

Mullen Jr. will be replaced by Bram van den Berg, 40 year old drummer of the Dutch pop-rock band Krezip. Van den Berg was born in a small Dutch village of Wamel and joined his first band, One in a Million, in 2001, while studying at the Fontys Rock Academy in Tilburg. Three years after that, he joined Krezip. Krezip split in 2009, then reunited in 2019 at Pinkpop. They also announced just last month that their sixth album, Any Day Now is going to be released on April 7th.

Van Den Berg wrote on Instagram, “Very excited about this opportunity to join Bono, the Edge and Adam onstage in Las Vegas, It’s big shoes to fill but Larry and the band have been so supportive, I can’t wait!”
