Whether you’re a manager in baseball or a coach in football you have the ability to mold young people’s minds. This is certainly the case when it comes to Ron Gardenhire and Bill Synder, two brilliant minds in their respective sports. Unfortunately for these two, their families and their fans, both have recently been diagnosed with cancer.
Earlier this week Coach Snyder announced that he was diagnosed with throat cancer. Thankfully it sounds like they caught it in time because reports are saying he’ll be ready in time for spring practice at Kansas State. His statement the other day said that he had been receiving treatment at KU Medical Center for a few weeks already and things looked positive.
Ron Gardenhire was just recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. He’s currently the bench coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks, but will forever be known as the great manager of the Twins in the 2000s. He will be taking a leave from the time for a period of time we’re not sure anyone currently knows.
Our best wishes go out to these two leaders and we hope for the speediest of recoveries for the both of them.
