Travis Scott Released After Paris Altercation, No Charges Filed

Travis Scott was released from French police custody without charges following an altercation with a security guard at a Paris hotel, French prosecutors announced on Saturday.

The Paris prosecutor’s office issued a statement explaining that Scott’s detention was lifted and all proceedings were terminated, deeming the incident minor.

The rapper was arrested early Friday after police responded to a call at the Georges V hotel, where a security guard intervened in a dispute between Scott and his bodyguard. The altercation led to Scott’s brief detainment.

Scott, who was in Paris for the Olympics, had attended the U.S. men’s basketball semifinal against Serbia on Thursday night.

Travis Scott, whose real name is Jacques Webster, is a major figure in hip hop with over 100 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 and four chart-topping singles: “Sicko Mode,” “Highest in the Room,” “The Scotts,” and “Franchise.”

In June, Scott was arrested in Miami Beach on misdemeanor charges of trespassing and public intoxication after officers found him at a marina, allegedly shouting obscenities and refusing to leave when ordered.

Scott shares two children with his former girlfriend, media personality and businesswoman Kylie Jenner.
