On Saturday night, November 9th, Tool gave fans in Detroit a special treat Tool pulled out the instrumental track “Merkaba” for the first time since 2002. The track, which started as an instrumental opening for “Sober” and grew into its own piece, first appeared in a live version on Tool’s 2000 compilation, Salival, and was positioned in front of “Schism” on Saturday.”
Keenan was raised partly in Michigan and born in Ohio. He also graduated from Mason County Central High School in Scottville, Michigan. There, Keenan was a varsity wrestler. He then went on to study at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, and served in the US Army prior to that.
Fear Inoculum, Tool’s first new album in 13 years, premiered November 1st. The band is now on tour, which visits Toronto November 11th and 12th at Scotiabank Arena and runs through November 25th in Washington, D.C. It has yet to be announced if there are any overseas or any additional US tour dates to be added.
