Three Things You Didn’t Know About Paul

Can you name the last number one album by Paul McCartney? Did you think the LP ‘Tug of War’ from 1982? That was the correct answer until this week, as Paul’s “Egypt Station’ just hit #1 on the Billboard 200 charts, putting 36 years between his last two number one albums.

‘Egypt Station’ was released in early September, and has sold over 150,000 albums, with another 160,000 streaming downloads. ‘Egypt Station’ is Paul’s eighth number one LP, and the Beatles still have the overall record for number ones at 19. Paul is now 76, and although he’s lived his lie in the bright spotlight, here are three things you probably didn’t know about Paul…

1.) Paul was in the air during the horrific 9/11 attack, watching the 2nd plane hit the tower while he was in the air.
2.) Paul’s first instrument wasn’t a guitar, it was a trumpet given to him by his dad.
3.) His real 1st name isn’t Paul, it’s James.
