Every week Mediabase releases their top 10 songs for each genre, so you know what time it is. Let’s take a look at what the spins are telling us this week…
The top song of the week for Hot Adult Contemporary was none other than Shawn Mendes’ “Stitches.” The song feels like it’s been around forever, but this is the first time it’s made it to number one (thanks to Adele’s dominance). Speaking of Adele, “Hello” dropped from two to three this week, while last week’s number one (Meghan Trainor’s “Like I’m Gonna Lose You”) moves from one to two.
Ellie Goulding and Rachel Platten round out the top five, while Elle King’s “Ex’s and Oh’s” falls out and moves from five to six. Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” has been making serious moves on the chart and has pushed itself from nine to seven. Coldplay, Adele, and Twenty One Pilots round out the top 10.
