1956 – Big band leader and trombone soloist Tommy Dorsey died.

1962 – The Beatles recorded “Please Please Me.”

1968 – Cream gave its last concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

1969 – The Band received a gold record for the album “The Band.”

1976 – The Sex Pistols’ “Anarchy in the U.K.” was released.
