This Day in Music History – November 14th

1943 – Leonard Bernstein made his debut with the New York Philhamonic when he filled in for the ailing Bruno Walter prior to a nationally broadcast concert. Bernstein was 25 years old and was an assistant conductor at the time.

1944 – Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra recorded “Opus No. 1” for RCA Records.

1961 – The Elvis Presley film “Blue Hawaii” premiered.

1962 – Bob Dylan recorded the song “Mixed-Up Confusion”. It was released as a single on December 14, 1962.

1970 – Santana’s “Black Magic Woman” was released.
