1965 – The Rolling Stones appeared with Chuck Berry on the television show “Hollywood A-GO-GO.”

1965 – The Beach Boys appeared on the “The Ed Sullivan Show” and performed “Help Me Rhonda.”

1966 – The Beach Boys album “Pet Sounds” was released.

1968 – Tony Joe White recorded “Polk Salad Annie.”

1969 – Jack Casady (Jefferson Airplane) was arrested for possession of marijuana at the Royal Orleans Hotel in New Orleans.

1969 – Pete Townshend (Who) was arrested onstage after mistakenly kicking a New York police officer.

1970 – Randy Bachman left the Guess Who.

1970 – Marty Balin (Jefferson Airplane) was arrested for marijuana possession and for contributing to the deliquency of minors in Bloomington, MN.

1980 – Dr. George C. Nichopoulos was indicted in Memphis on 14 counts of overprescribing drugs to Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and nine other patients.

1981 – Martin Chambers (Pretenders) married Tracy Atkinson.

1983 – The television special “Motown 25: Yesterday, Today and Forever” aired. It was a taping of the first time that Michael Jackson performed the moonwalk for a live audience.

1984 – Prince’s “When Doves Cry” was released.

1986 – Caitlin O’Riordan (Pogues) and Elvis Costello were married.

1991 – Ray Charles was inducted into the Atlanta Celebrity Walk.

1992 – Weird Al Yankovic’s “Smell Like Nirvana” hit #35 in the U.S.
