The Weeknd Announces New Album “Dawn FM,” Featuring Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, More

The Weeknd just revealed that he will finally be dropping a brand new album this week to follow up to his 2020 release After Hours.

Earlier this week, the Canadian singer-songwriter shared a trailer for Dawn FM in addition to an official release date of this Friday, January 7th. The trailer, which teases “a new sonic universe from the mind of The Weeknd,” reveals that Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, Quincy Jones, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Jim Carrey all feature on the album.

The Weeknd had been leading up to this announcement with a handful of teases, including a tweet on January 2nd telling fans to “wake up at dawn tomorrow,” as well as a cheeky nod to his new album’s title when accepting an award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards in May of last year.

“I just want to say the After Hours are done and The Dawn is coming,” he told the audience.
