Billboard has been releasing a fun chart this year called the “Artist 100” and as the name suggests it features all of the top artists from week to week. The ranking is based on some social media metrics as well as streams and sales. So, artists that have new albums out typically see a big jump on the chart.
Katy Perry is one of those artists to have a recent album come out and she saw that big jump. She took the top spot from Ed Sheeran after sitting at number 44 last week! Another big mover this week was Lady Antebellum, the Country group who sat at 89 last week. They’re at six this week.
