Are you a big Beatles fan? Better yet, are you a George Harrison fanatic? Here’s some great news for you. The 1963 Maton Mastersound MS-500 guitar played by George during stops in Germany and the UK, and in particular, the Cavern dates, is about to be auctioned off in mid-September, expecting to fetch nearly $500 thousand dollars.
George actually borrowed the Maton Mastersound MS-500 guitar from the guitar show that sold him his Gretsch Country Gentleman guitar, a lender as his guitar was being repaired. Handling the event will be the Gardiner Houlgate auction house, September 12th in Corsham, England. Also, in the auction will be more guitars from Yes original member Steve Howe and the late Maurice Gibb of the legendary Bee Gees.
